Description
The Cisco WS-C4948-E is a fixed-configuration, 1U rackmount Ethernet switch designed for enterprise networks, server rooms, and data center environments. It provides 48 Gigabit Ethernet copper ports and four alternative SFP uplink ports for fiber-optic connectivity, supporting high-performance Layer 2 switching and Layer 3 routing.
This model is supplied with the Enterprise Services Cisco IOS software image, supporting advanced routing protocols and network services such as OSPF, EIGRP, IS-IS, and BGP. The switch uses a 96 Gbps switching fabric and provides hardware-based forwarding at up to 72 million packets per second (Mpps).
The WS-C4948-E includes one AC power supply and a fan tray in its documented configuration. Its redundant power-supply capability and hot-swappable fan tray help support reliable operation in enterprise networking installations.
