The Cisco CAB-HSI1 is a 10-foot High-Speed Serial Interface (HSSI) cable with male connectors on both ends, used to connect Cisco routers equipped with HSSI WAN interface modules to compatible DSU/CSU equipment or ATM switches. HSSI is a serial WAN interface standard developed in the early 1990s by Cisco and T3plus Networking to support data rates up to 52 Mbps over short distances, primarily used to connect routers to T3, E3, or ATM WAN equipment such as DSU/CSUs and multiplexers. The cable is typically labeled Rev C0 and features shielded 50-pin HSSI connectors with metal housings on each end.

Key Features:

  • Male-to-male HSSI cable, 10 feet in length
  • Shielded 50-pin connectors with metal housings for signal integrity
  • Designed for use with Cisco routers that carry an HSSI port or HSSI WAN Interface Card (WIC)
  • Compatible with platforms such as the Cisco 4000 series, 7000 series, and AGS+ routers, as well as router cards equipped with HSSI modules
