Description
The Certance STD224000N Scorpion 24 is an internal digital data storage (DDS) tape drive designed for server backups, data archiving and legacy IT storage systems. It uses the DDS-3 4mm tape format and provides a native storage capacity of 12GB, increasing to 24GB with 2:1 data compression.
The drive features a 5.25-inch half-height form factor with factory-installed mounting rails and bezel. It connects through a 50-pin single-ended SCSI interface and supports backward compatibility with DDS-2, DDS-3 and DDS-DC tape formats.
Designed for enterprise and small-business backup environments, the Scorpion 24 incorporates hardware data compression, error correction and firmware upgrade capabilities. It is suitable for maintaining legacy backup systems that use compatible SCSI controllers and DDS tape cartridges.
